Competition Team
COMING FALL 2026

  1. Dancers ages 7-18 will have the opportunity to try out for the competition team 

  2. There will be 3 days for competition tryouts 

    • Learning the routine on day 1 

    • Cleaning the routine day 2  

    • Interview and performing the routine on day 3

  3. Try outs and the days of will be determined by the coaches

  4. You are to be dressed in all black the days of these tryouts, with hair pulled back or at the coaches discretion

  5. Tryouts will be closed to all parents 

  6. Your dancer will find out no later than the following week if they made the competition team 

  7. They are able to try out each quarter if they do not make it.

  8. Keep in mind competition team fees will be a different rate than weekly classes/ tuition; they will have a set fee for the year to cover all expenses. 

  9. At any time we can remove a dancer from the competition team for discipline, demerits or anything that does not comply with our code of conduct.

Competition Try Out Rules

Dance Company Rules

  1. Tuition is to be due every month on the 1st of the month no later than the 3rd 

  2. If tuition is not paid, the dancer can not return to practice until tuition is current.

  3. If your dancer does not make the competition team they will automatically be part of the Dallas Elite Diamond dolls dance company.

  4. If you miss a class you will not be reimbursed for missing that class

  5. If you miss a class there will not be a makeup day unless the class was cancelled due to coaches & staff 

  6. Dancers will get the opportunity to perform during a showcase twice a year, any parades, & or extra performances/ invites outside of competitions 

  7. ​Dancers are to still wear the appropriate practice attire

  1. All dancers are required to be at all practice, performances/ competitions on time.

  2. Tardy equals .5 demerit 

  3. Unexcused Absence equals 1 demerits

  4. If for any reason you are late or absent, communicate with your head coaches

  5. ​Being late with out communication  on competition or performance day results in 4 demerits



     

Attendance Policy

  1. Treat every dancer equally.

  2. Be polite and understanding.

  3. Your commitment is to teach / instruct  & or support young ladies to advance in their dancing skill and learn the importance of dance.

  4. Lead by example: dress appropriately, avoid profanity, set the standard

  5. Commit to all practices, performances/ competitions. Things do happen and things are planned. It is imperative If either head coach or assistant coaches can not attend things please communicate amongst each other so that things can continue to run smoothly

  6. Help with team bonding activities

  7. Help with fundraisers

  8. Gain relationships and bonds with parents

  9. Be respectful to one another

  10. Communicate positively and effectively with all dancers parents

  11. NO violence will be tolerated NO exceptions

  12. If the coaches & or staff feel compromised from being able to do their jobs due to negativity from any party the dancer and parent will be removed effective immediately from the dance company / competition team with no refunds being given

  13. Respect ALL peers involved; we have a 0 tolerance policy for any negativity

Coaches / Staff / Parents

  1. Dancers must follow all rules given by the coaches and selected staff

  2. There is ZERO TOLERANCE for attitudes and tantrums at any time

  3. All dancers are expected to show respect to their peers and dance sisters. If issues arise, consequences will be determined by the coaching staff. 

  4. Dancers over the age of seven years old must provide progress reports and report cards every 3 and 6 weeks to be evaluated. Dancers must maintain passing grades in school. Failing progress reports will result in consequences determined by coaching staff. Failing report cards may affect the ability of dancers participating in upcoming performances, showcases, or competitions

  5. Parents are responsible for having their dancer present and on time to all practices. Parents are also responsible for showing up on time to pick up your dancer from any practices, performances, or any events. Any carpooling or dropping off arrangements must be arranged prior to that practice or event day

  6. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for any violence or physical assault from any member or parent associated with DEDD.

  7. Each dancer must come to practice with a mission and vision statement in mind. 
    DEMERITS: Demerits will be given for unexcused tardiness, unexcused absences, for being out of uniform during practice or performance , or any unlikely act that goes against the code of conduct. Your dancer will start with 0 demerits and will only be allowed a maximum amount of 10 demerits per year

    • 6 demerits, sit out for any upcoming event or performance

    • 10 demerits, immediate dismissal from the team 

    • 3 demerits, conditioning practice consequence

  8. Each dancer should expect to follow instructions as directed at all times. No dancer is different from the other

  9. Each dancer should carry themselves with class, confidence and poise at ALL TIMES. 

  10. Each dancer should come to practice ready to learn, full of energy, and practice full out at all times

  11. Dancers should build relationships with their teammates. this is not just a team but it should become a sister hood

  12. All dancers should arrive to practice with POSITIVE energy and a SMILE!!!!!

Expectations

  1. ALL UNIFORMS MUST BE CLEAN!!!!!!

  2. Practice uniforms must be ALL BLACK (shirt with shorts, tights, or pants) . Crop top shirts, or high cut shorts are prohibited.

  3. Black jazz shoes / black tennis shoes are the only shoes permitted. 

  4. Competition team members will have a specific practice uniform. Dancers must show up compliant with uniform every practice. Failure to be dress code compliant will result in receiving a punishment decided by coaches. Repeated offenses will result in the dancer receiving 1 demerit.

  5. All dancers’ hair must be out of their face during practice. Hairstyle for performances and showcases will be determined by coaches prior to the event. 

  6.  Performance / competition uniforms are subject to change.

  7. Dancers are required to have a water jug / tumbler / bottle at all times. 

  8. If a dancer is out of uniform during performance, they will sit out (no exceptions). Out of dress code dancers will be given a punishment that will be needed to be completed before they leave practice. 

  9. All dancers are required to maintain a consistent and unified appearance during all performances, including showcases, parades, and competitions. This includes matching costumes, accessories, hairstyles, and makeup. No additional or personalized items may be added unless approved by the coaching staff. 

  10. Older girls are required to have a cross back sports bra to wear with performance uniforms & during practice. 

  11. All dancers are required to wear seamless, non visible underwear with all team uniforms for all performances, showcases and events. 

  12. CLEAN UNDAMAGED DANCE TIGHTS ARE REQUIRED FOR EVERY PERFORMANCE!
